We live in Andover, Minnesota. Our family enjoys spending time with each other and our two Miniature Pinto Horses, Giant Schnoodle Dog, Rabbits, Russian Tortoises, Quaker Parrot (Cosmo), African Grey Congo Parrot, Parrotlet, Parakeet, Nandy Counure Parrot, and our loving pairs of breeding Parrots.

Our love of parrots started with our first green Quaker, 
named Cosmo. Cosmo continues to be our family's very close friend and pet. He was purchased during a time that held many challenges for our family. His fun-loving personality, and desire to be involved in all aspects of our family life, has won us over and given us more joy and peace than we ever thought possible from a pet. He was two months old when purchased. Soon after, Cosmo started imitating vocal sounds. He has a growing vocabulary and mimics new sounds weekly. His speech, like other Quakers, is usually very soft and sweet; yet he has been known to loudly yell, "Kiss" and make kissing sounds throughout the house. He loves to kiss, dance, snuggle, and laugh. He laughs as if he really understands what is funny. Quakers have a gift of great appropriateness with their speech and verbalizations. Sometimes he gets the jokes before we do!
Our love of animals is more than a family hobby, these pets have provided therapeutic help for three of my children adopted from Russia. Animals have a healing quality for emotional and behavioral disregulation that is difficult to match anywhere else. Children from orphanages often struggle with trusting emotional attachments with people. Compassion and empathy are not often developed. But, through the therapeutic lessons, and day-to-day connections with our loving pets and flying friends, they have healed our family in ways that cannot be expressed. We are very happy to share the special gifts that animals and birds have to offer with your family.
St. Francis loved all of God's Creatures and had a special gift for connecting with Gods' beautiful creations. We too strive to love all creatures as St. Francis did. This business is carried out through the direction of God and the intercessory prayers of St. Francis. The birds that come from our home will be handfed and socialized with extra love and care for their transition to their forever home.
