Refererences

All Birds are sold with a 72 hour health guarantee.  Any health problems that arrive, within this time period, must be varified by a professional Aviary Veterinarian.  Any health issues that arise, must be proven as present from the time of delivery.  Reasons of obvious neglect, abuse, or problems from air shipping, will not be guaranteed.

  • Each Bird sold will be leg banded for identification.  If this is removed, the 72 hour health guarantee is void!

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the sale price, for each unweaned baby bird, is required to hold/reserve each bird.  Reservations for baby birds is on a first-come-first-serve basis.  Exceptions for the return of deposit money (for reserved birds) will only be granted if shipping becomes impossible on the seller's end.

  • Seller has the right to refuse a sale of our precious birds for any reason or concern.

  • Once a verbal/e-mail/phone agreement has been solidified, for the purchase of specific bird(s), the hold will be in place for seven days from the original agreement date.  Bird(s) will be placed for sale again after seven days, if the deposit is not received.  Exceptions to this rule would be agreed upon between both parties at the time of agreement.

  • Payment in full must be received in time to clear the bank before shipping.  If a check is returned, a $50 fee will be charged to cover bank service charges and fees.

  • Birds reserved may be placed for sale to the public again if the buyer does not follow through with the prior sale agreement.  Written notification will be given in these cases.  I don't expect issues to arise in this area, but am being safe.

  • DNA Testing is done through Avian Biotech.  If you want a specific sex , the tests will cost approximately $25 (per bird tested) in addition to the sale price of the bird(s).

  • Shipping costs are in addition to the sale price of the bird(s).  The cost of an air safe kennel/carrier is also in addition to the sale price of the bird(s).  Estimated cost of kennel/carrier is $25 (give or take for the size of the carrier needed).

  • The buyer will pay the seller for the kennel/carrier fee; as part of the purchase agreement.

Shipping via Delta from Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN airport will vary depending on the distance, size/number of bird(s), size of the carrier, and weight.  Estimates will be quoted over the phone by Delta and then the actual price will be solidified at the time of final check-in through CARGO.  The cost estimates around $120 for both carrier and airfare (give or take from the variables mentioned).  Airfare will be charged C.O.D.  In other words, the buyer will pay for the freight upon arrival to the designated airport.  Pick-up is done through your airport's CARGO building, not the main airport area.  Details will be given to when the final arrangements are secured.

  • Delta/Conair has temperature restrictions for carrying live animals.  This may cause delays in shipping on either the seller or buyer's end.  Both areas need to be within the temperatures of 60-85 degrees.  We are uncomfortable shipping babies in cold temperatures and will wait for their safety.  This means winter months are generally out.  Risks with air shipping include high stress on birds and possible chill from transport between cargo to plane and back again.

Car delivery is the best option if the buyer is close enough to meet part way or close enough for the seller to deliver the entire distance.  Gas/mileage is the general extra cost for this shipping arrangement.

  • If, for some reason, you are not able to maintain your pet in your home, and are looking for another home for your bird, please check with us first.  If we are able, we will gladly take your pet, at owner's shipping expense, and find a new home.

Wing clipping is the general practice for the safety of our birds (exceptions to this are breeding pairs).  I wait to clip the wings of baby birds after there have been several successful flight experiences.  If you do not want your purchased bird to have clipped wings, you must notify me ASAP.  Some states require the wings of Quaker Parrots to be clipped for sale, transport, and ownership.  Check the, "Legal in State" page on this website for more details.
