Cage Size should be as large as you can afford for your bird’s comfort and level of enjoyment! Your bird will want to spend some time outside of the cage, each day, so a play top cage may be your choice purchase. Otherwise, try to purchase a play gym for them to enjoy outside of the cage. Don't forget to cover the cage at night or when you need a bit a quiet time. Snuggle hut(s) are cozy for birds and a nice place to go to bed inside of their cage. Full spectrum lighting should be waiting for them for good bone health as well.
Variety, Variety, Variety! Varieties of food, toys, and perches, and location of play are healthy for all parrots! This will be a great welcome Home-Sweet-Home!
The Bird(s) will be thirsty and hungry
When they arrive at their new home!
Seeds are not a complete diet alone!
Seed, pellets, water, nut mix, and millet.
A variety of fresh fruits/vegetables, warm/soft food
mixtures from either brown rice, pasta, or cooked beans,
and/or bird bread are fed. Check the "Bird Recipes" page
for ideas!
The bird(s) are shipped with food and water, but depending
on the length of the flight and the wait time for pick-up, they
will want to have a nice meal ready for them in their new home.
The scent of warm mixtures of goodness will be exactly what
they have been waiting for.
Our babies will be accustomed to these food varieties:
Kaytee Exact pellets (fruit blends and natural), Zupreem Pellets,
Zupreem Avian Entrees, Volkman Seed, Hagen Living World
Tropican seed mix, or Roudybush mixes. Leafy raw vegetables
(spinach, collard, celery, etc...), fresh vegetables, sprouts, fruits,
applesauce, cooked beans, powdered milk or soy milk, pasta,
brown rice, oats, eggs (shells included), shell-less or no-waste mix
of nuts (not walnuts), and homemade breads for birds are necessary
for their complete diet and happiness.

- Do Not Feed garlic, avocado, chocolate, salt, or onions. Teflon coated pans are bad for birds too. Please do not prepare foods in these pans. More lists are available on our "Toxic/Safe" Page and "Bird Recipes" Page.
Our birds are handfed, socialized, and loved so much, that we regret the moment when we must say, “Goodbye”!
